3/5 - Average Moadra is a good game that is let down by some frustrating design decisions that could easily be fixed post release. The best part of the game is the setting and atmosphere which feels like a cross between Metroid and Alien/Predator. The gameplay is also very smooth, your character controls like a charm. Very quickly most normal enemies you encounter are immune to normal weapons, but energy capacity for the special weapons is very low and the inventory suggests it'll stay pretty low. That'd be fine on its own, but the same special weapons are required for clearing blocks and walls so it feels like you're often punished for killing enemies, needing to backtrack to find stuff actually vulnerable to normal…
