Who we are

What we read from Steam
With your permission (a pasted profile link or signing in with Steam) we read, through the official Steam Web API: your Steam ID, display name and avatar, the games you own, your playtime (total, last two weeks and on Steam Deck), when you last played each game, and the games on your wishlist. Your profile's Game details must be public for Steam to share your games; Steam only shares a wishlist that is public.
What we keep, and for how long
- Pasted profile link, no sign-in: your library is held for 24 hours to answer your questions, then deleted automatically. Nothing is saved to our database. You can forget it sooner from Settings.
- Signed in with Steam: your Steam ID, display name, avatar, owned games with playtime, the answers you give, the picks we showed you and your reactions to them. We keep these until you delete your account in Settings.
- Wishlist: read from Steam when a page needs it and held for 30 minutes, then read again, so changes you make on Steam show up here. It is never saved to our database, and we can’t change it: adding and removing games happens on Steam.
- Friends: when you play with friends, we read the list of games each chosen friend owns (only if their profile is public) and keep that list for 24 hours. We never store your friends' playtime or add them to our database.
- Sharing with Steam friends (off unless you turn it on): if you switch it on, Steam friends who have also switched it on can see your shelf, what you’ve played lately, your most-played games, your taste tags and any tagline, gamer tags and links you add. We read your Steam friends list to know who your friends are and keep it for an hour. Your pick history, achievements and written taste summary are never shown to anyone else.
- Profile details (optional): a tagline, gamer tags and social handles you choose to add. They appear on your profile and to Steam friends you share with, never publicly, and are deleted with your account or when you clear them.
- Game information (titles, tags, reviews, lengths) comes from Steam and IGDB and is shared by everyone; it contains nothing about you.
Why we use it
To suggest games from your library: we use your play history to understand your taste, and your reactions so we stop suggesting games you turned down.
Improving suggestions for everyone. We may combine signed-in players' play history and reactions (for example "people who finished X also enjoyed Y") and look at aggregate usage. This is on by default and you can switch it off at any time in Settings; your data is then left out from that point on.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare runs the website and background jobs.
- CapyDB stores the database and temporary data on servers in Helsinki, Finland (EU).
- Anthropic (Claude) chooses and explains picks. For each request it receives a summary of your taste (favourite and avoided tags, hours by tier), your answers (including any note you type), and a shortlist of your games with their playtime. It does not receive your Steam ID or name.
- Valve (Steam) and IGDB (Twitch) are the sources of library and game data.
Cookies
We set up to four cookies, all needed for the site to work and none used for tracking: wtp_session keeps you signed in (30 days), wtp_anon links your browser to a pasted-link import (24 hours), wtp_adult remembers that you chose to see 18+ games, and wtp_prices the Steam store country you picked for prices (each a year, only if you turn it on). To suggest that country we use the country on your Steam profile or the one Cloudflare reports for your connection; neither is stored. Your light or dark choice is kept in this browser's local storage. There is no advertising or analytics tracking.
Your rights
You can delete your account and everything stored about you from Settings at any time, and switch off the use of your history for everyone's suggestions. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to object to or restrict how we use it, by writing to privacy@entro314.com. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to your data protection authority.
