So far about a half hour into the game I read mixed reviews about the game. So far I am enjoying it feels more like a castlevania (metroidvania / igavania ) than a Metroid style game like the first one. I enjoy that the combat is more melee based. So far so good. I think it’s cool when a sequel isn’t a carbon copy of the predecessor.

Actually fantastic game. I was already a fan of the first one, which was a very Metroid-inspired game with a few cool and unique abilities, but this one takes the gameplay in a really unique direction that I ended up enjoying even more. I can't really recommend it based on the fact that 1 was so good and got me to play this one and left me sorely disappointed. I did not feel as if the story gripped me like 1 did. also there are several instances of bug where certain pickups are not counted toward completion and it left me with 99% completion despite me combing over the area completely where the in game map said I was missing an item.
