This definitely scratches a Hollow Knight itch. It's not as tight, with respect to controls and not as deep but Hollow Knight, content and lore wise but it is a very fun game.

Unfortunately too mediocre. I've played a lot of metroids, and while I love the atmosphere, the map layout is too tedious to navigate (majority are "tall" rooms), which is compounded by the insane amount of backtracking one needs to do (e.g., immediately after beating the first boss, the first thing you do is backtrack upwards to the beginning of the game.) It could have been somewhat helped by making teleportation…
