The developer is clearly a fan of the great classic "Crystalis" as can be seen by the gameplay, soundtrack, and system. I really admire the retro-throwback feel. As for the plot, it is amusing and it is nice to play as the villain for a change. If you've ever played Dungeons and Dragons with a person who insisted on playing a Chaotic Evil character you'll understand how frustrating the choices the main character makes.
