In nearly every metroidvania that I have played, combat progression is quite linear. You start off with sword, you get bigger sword, you get stronger sword, sword gets more attack speed, so on and so forth. Finished the game a first time in 2018, replaying it 8 years after, and it didn't aged well at all... The pixel art and animation quality are still amazing and the musics are very good. But the gameplay is horrible, ennemies get tanky for no reason, actions are not precise, especially mid air.
