The core loop is far too shallow to be called a strategy game: there's a map, but you never need to move anywhere to win; a battle system, but fighting actively hurts you more than it helps since you lose population either way; and builders/soldiers that turn out to be entirely optional busywork, since the castle levels itself up automatically from random events. Players note there's effectively one difficulty…
