Recommended
I put recommendation but with caveats. Game does not set tournaments close to your elo, especially if you are very bad at chess. You will have to play tournaments where you will never be able to truly compete due to the elo difference of the other players. Other than that the game is a nice attempt and it can appeal to some. For me I think Chessmaster Grandmaster edition remains king of chess programs.

I like this game and it's obviously been made by people who know the world of chess. Look. It's basically a chess RPG with the opportunity to learn built into it. It seems to be a project in development and I really like the tweaks that have been brought to it. The randomize game simulator seems to be a lot better than it was at respecting ELO probabilities, although I feel it's still skewed somewhat against the…

Not recommended
Great concept and could be exactly my kind of game. Sadly, the AI is awful, which is a pretty big problem in a chess game. I keep seeing moves from opponents, and sometimes from my own character in certain modes, that make absolutely no sense. Good idea, poor execution. Fix the AI and this could be really good. Right now it is hard to take seriously.
