The game’s depiction of Victorian London is one of its strongest parts, and the rope launcher works well in a city built on this scale. Combat is fun, but the story was a different matter. I’d still recommend giving it a chance, just not with high expectations.

Syndicate wishes it were Unity, but it fails at even being a decent Assassin's Creed. For me, the most important thing in an AC game is how you move. Combat must be fluid, climbing and running must feel good, stealth must look cool. Nothing is easy or smooth in Syndicate. The controls are neither responsive nor consistent : sometimes you have to press a button, sometimes hold it, sometimes mash it, to do the same…
