bad pc port problems affect this game. i fixed this game's annoying scaling using this method: "In the game files, right click on FF4.exe > Properties > Compatibility. Then change DPI settings, at the bottom find High-DPI scaling override, press enable, and change to 'application'. That fixed the game being too large for me when Windows Scale is set to 150% (cuz i need it to be that large) also the 30FPS battles fix…

Not worth your money in 2026. You'd be better off buying the Pixel Remaster. Game runs at 15 FPS in battles. A mod is absolutely mandatory if you don't want to spend 1 hour in a fight with basic trash mobs. This version of the game adds a bunch of unnecessary missable crap like Augments and its all just such a pain to try and get them all, its pointless bloat added on and detracts from the experience.
