I feel this game is underrated, it doesn't really deserve its "mixed" reviews. Faerie Afterlight is an overlooked metroidvania with beautiful art design and smooth and responsive gameplay... but also a little simple at times. Puzzles are fun and there are a lot of biomes. I found some of the bosses a little weird, but still nice overall. I also want to point out that platforming is way harder than the actual boss…

This is a fairly well polished game, with decent controls, and a charming art style. However, this is not worth a buy. I'll explain. 1) First of all, I don't think the devs understand what metroidvanias are supposed to.
