Old Skies manages to be at once both compelling and frustrating. The art style and voice acting are top notch. The universe building sucks you in from the first scene: I went into this game mostly blind, but once I understood the implications of the game's world I was *excited* to play. Unfortunately, the puzzles and the gameplay are a letdown from there. The puzzles are not bad per se, just standard adventure game…

This game is almost entirely dialogue based. In terms of what it does then it does it well but I found that the puzzle solving element a bit boring. It's essentially a game of finding out the correct dialogue options to convince or influence with the odd minor inventory puzzle thrown in, which as a feature feels more like a tick in a box rather than well thought out puzzles integral to the gameplay.
