I did not know anything about this game or its long legacy from the past until I started playing this game and I have come to appreciate Ninja JaJaMaru. I like how simple the controls are and how it blends the new gameplay elements with the original. The music is great, as is the humor and characters and I like how the stages are separated like a play in Kabuki Theater. Some of the achievements are pretty difficult…

This is more of a "Jaleco/Jajamaru fanservice unlock device" disguised as a game. Consider that this was sort of a bonus thing on the switch Jajamaru collection, so you had several full "real games" and then this, it made sense... but as a standalone thing it's just kind of unsatisfying and frustrating. Unfun gimmick characters who are often powerless against bosses, frequently too-zoomed-in camera, "challenge mode"…
