Playing 1-6 back to back you really appreciate how much of a leap forward 6 was. Like when I was playing 5 I was thinking "Damn I'm really enjoying this, this is easily as good as 6" and then 6 rolled up and naw man, 5 wishes. All it took was the confidence to stop ripping off dragon quest's look and the devs were unchained. There's a *lot* that doesn't work, fuck the veldt etc, but god damn what a game.

Sadly did not enjoy this game. Which surprised me because 7,8 and 10 are some of my favourite games of all time. But 6 felt like a hot mess. It constantly splits up the characters (sometimes you'll play as both parties, but don't get comfortable with that because then other times you will only play as the one party and all those not in your party did not level up).
