I see a lot of complaints, so let's start with that. Complaints cover - that people are unhappy that the game doesn't play like their heavily modded SE1. Go figure. - that some things are different from SE1, for example raw material crafting in backpack. Ya. But only very basic crafting. I found Space Engineers after it had been out for quite a while. I learned the hard way that starting new in Space Engineers was difficult. I still enjoyed it regardless, but I'm sure for many it meant they didn't get very far into the game due to the initial grind it takes. Space Engineers 2 does a good job solving that. The performance, graphics, and some other improvements are genuinely good, and I think those aspects have been very well done. The planet looks awesome as hell! Unfortunately, the gameplay changes are a massive disappointment for me, at least... Backpack crafting and the removal of ingots and stone take away a lot of what made Space Engineers special to me.
