Akane is an excellent hack-and-slash game. It’s short, but some of the achievements can be a little tricky to get... or maybe I’m just bad at the game. Either way, it’s really fun, and the pixel art looks great. It pains me to leave a negative review, but this one has to be said. Akane is marketed as an arcade-style game, and when I hear "arcade," I expect fast, replayable, high-score-chasing fun with plenty of variety. Unfortunately, this game delivers almost none of that.
