Now that I've hit 1000 hours and prestige 20, I figured I would give the game a proper send off. I've been playing Phasmo almost completely solo since early 2021 so I've seen it evolve into a very different game. The core mechanics are still the same but the execution has improved a lot. I doubt anyone will even see this review but if you do, know that Phasmo is worth the time. I've always seen it as a puzzle game…

The game works surprisingly well whether you prefer playing alone or with others, but I definitely think it is at its best in co-op, even if you are only playing with one other person. The investigations themselves can be genuinely tense, especially when you are gathering evidence, trying to identify the ghost, and slowly realizing that the situation is becoming more dangerous. This game used to be fun when it came out. It was scary but playable. I had a lot of fun with friends being terrified and then finding the ghost and getting it right and winning. Then they reset all of our equipment and cranked up the difficulty and even have a plaque on the wall of when they messed the game up. August 17th, 2023.
