The original Paratopic is a minimalist, experimental masterpiece - in a vacuum this stands on its own and delivers similar thrills / intrigue, but ultimately loses some of the effectiveness of how much the original paratopic chose to withold; the weirdness and evocative nature isn't really built on. That said, some of the new setpieces are really interesting and cool, and it still stands as a visually beautiful game…

If I had to summarize my feelings about Paratopic: Overdub in a single word, it'd be disappointment. By far my biggest complaint with the game is how much it throws any subtlety the original game had completely out the window. Like for example, the dinner scene between the tape mule and his boss. In OG, the boss's texture swims and floats over the boss's model, like some sort of skin suit that's too loose and coming…
