Firstly, if you are somehow considering this game without having played CrossCode, play that game instead. It is finished, very similar to this game, and very good. This is essentially a sequel, just not set in the same world. Same combat depth, same style of puzzles and dungeons. Hard to say much more as it's in early access and I'm waiting for more story updates before continuing. The only thing I'm concerned…

I took some time to write a longer review of Radical Fish Games' (to me) masterpiece Crosscode. I won't write much here until it leaves Early Access. I'll just say it takes some of the same ideas, added a graphics overhaul and some interesting gameplay additions, such as a kind of roguelike dungeon. The music reminds me of Nobuo Uematsu's style, in particular his work in Final Fantasy X. I'll just leave it at that…

the writing is nothing compared to the perfection of crosscode, im disappointed and hope the writing gets revamped before the final release. I can't find the motivation for the main character to do what she is doing beyond "destiny" and that is incredibly boring and not engaging at all.
