If you're a fan of the series, this is something a bit different. It definitely scratches that old school, choose your own adventure/fighting fantasy/lone wolf itch from the 70s and 80s, while adapting cleanly into a modern genre. If you're a fan of survivor's like games this might not be your cup of tea as it moves much more at a slower pace as it's closer to that of a narrative game. But, if you're into the…

I really liked the game, my favorite aspect is the presentation, the little tactile sound effects of cards and dice creates a nice atmosphere, the narration and little flavor text with illustrations in the events/sidequests around the map makes each run feel like a small journey with a little bit of procedural storytelling, kinda like a mini RPG session.

Not recommended
I love the Hand of Fate games and I love the Bullet Heaven genre, but I cannot recommend this game in its current form. It is highly missing that addictive nature that makes you want to play "just one more run...". The permanent upgrades are very boring, +2 X or +1% to Y stat. Hopefully they improve this game heavily during Early Access because I think 16 hours is more than enough to give it an honest chance...
